Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information HomeTeam (the “Service”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the HomeTeam website and application.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name and email address, and authentication details needed to sign you in.
- Content you create — the tasks, boards, comments, household and member details, and other information you add to the Service.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details; we receive limited billing information (such as your subscription status) from Stripe.
- Technical information — basic data your browser sends and logs we keep to operate the Service securely, such as IP address, device/browser type, and timestamps.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate you, send verification and account emails, and keep your account secure.
- To process subscriptions and payments.
- To respond to you, provide support, and communicate important changes.
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run HomeTeam, and only as needed to provide the Service:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Resend — sending transactional email (verification, magic links, notifications).
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run and store the Service.
- People you invite — content you share within a household is visible to the members you add to it.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service securely. These are necessary for the Service to function; we do not use them for third-party advertising.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, for tax or legal compliance).
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can update much of your information in your account settings, or contact us to make a request. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Children
HomeTeam is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. A parent or guardian who sets up a household is responsible for any family members they add. If you believe a child has provided us information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
